Mrs. Lesniak graduated magna cum laude from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania. She then went on to attend graduate school at Florida International University in Mental Health Counseling where she graduated summa cum laude and at the top of her class. Mrs. Lesniak has experience providing therapy, facilitating groups, and coordinating services for adolescents and adults from outpatient to residential settings. She also has provided consultation in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Oliver-Pyatt Centers, a residential eating disorder program in South Miami. Mrs. Lesniak currently collaborates with Dr. Holly Bedotto and Dr. Vivina Elgueta in running both an adolescent and adult DBT program. Supervision is also available for psychotherapists looking for a more advanced understanding of DBT.
In addition to her individual and group therapy work, Mrs. Lesniak is passionate about providing evidenced-based treatment to couples undergoing relationship stress. Therefore, Mrs. Lesniak received extensive training in the The Gottman Method, a research based treatment protocol for couples who are seeking new tools for communication and connection.
